Perry Plays Host as NBHA Ariat Summer Run Super Show Wraps Up

Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter, Perry, GA — July 3-5, 2026

The Reaves Arena dirt saw another full weekend of fast times and full stands as the National Barrel Horse Association brought its Ariat Summer Run Super Show back to Perry, Georgia, one of the sport's most consistent summer stops.

Riders from across the Southeast and beyond hauled in for the three-day run, chasing a purse built on $17,000 in added money and 111 wild cards spread across the Open, Youth, and Senior 5D divisions. The Open format ran all three days, giving competitors multiple shots to bank points and payouts before the weekend closed out.

Big Money on the Line

Beyond the base purse, this year's Summer Run carried some of the richest sidepot action on the NBHA's Georgia calendar. The $25,000 Future Fortunes Open bonus and the $10,000 Future Fortunes "Mama's Money" sidepot both required separate registration through the Future Fortunes program, with 90 percent of Mama's Money entry fees rolling straight back into the purse.

The stakes went beyond cash, too. Saturday's Open 1D top 10 punched tickets to the AQHA World Show, and the event doubled as a qualifier for the Premier Women's Rodeo Championships, with a handful of Pro, Challenger, and Limited-division riders locking in berths to the 2027 PWR World Championship.

How the Weekend Ran

Stalls and the facility opened Thursday, July 2, with pre-sold exhibition runs that afternoon and Friday morning. Competition itself broke down into three sessions:

Friday, July 3 — Open Race 1
Saturday, July 4 — Open Race 2, plus Youth and Senior classes
Sunday, July 5 — Cowboy Church at 7:30 a.m., followed by Open Race 3

Layered on top of the main Open races were the usual NBHA sidepots — Youth, Senior, Prime, and Helmet divisions among them — along with 2D Futurity and Derby sidepots for younger horses and a Saturday-only APHA PBRIP sidepot for registered Paint horses.

Open average champions across all three days earned Circle Y saddle certificates, and Saturday's Youth and Senior winners went home with Gist buckles and awards through the top three in each division.

What's Next

The Summer Run's Perry stop leads directly into an even bigger date on the NBHA's Georgia calendar: the Youth & Teen World Championships, set to return to the Georgia National Fairgrounds July 18-25.
